Course description
This course, followed by a minimum period of six months of practical work experience under the guidance of a qualified AVSEC supervisor, gives airport security staff the foundation training required to implement, monitor and apply preventive airport security measures in line with locally approved programmes.

WHO IT IS FOR
- Airport security staff with primary responsibility for applying preventive aviation security measures at airports, together with staff of equivalent level in other aeronautical bodies carrying out support activities.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Participants must meet the following criteria:
- Successful completion of secondary education or an equivalent level of education.
- Command of the written and spoken language of instruction
OBJECTIVES: by the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Work and move safely around the airport
- Communicate and cooperate with other airport services
- Control the movement of people and vehicles
- Guard vulnerable areas, facilities and aircraft at the airport by performing guard duties and patrols
- Recognise weapons and explosive or incendiary devices
- Screen, search and inspect passengers and baggage
- Respond to emergencies at the airport.
