The objective of this training is to present the structure, functions, and main requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
It allows participants to understand how ICAO Annexes, SARPs (Standards and Recommended Practices), and Reference Docs are integrated into European (EASA) and national regulations.

Day 1 – Introduction to ICAO

- Chicago Convention and its 19 Annexes
- Organizational structure (Council, Member States, Regional Offices)
- SARPs development process
Day 2 – Regulatory Framework and Implementation
- Interactions between ICAO, EASA, and national authorities (DGAC, ANAC, etc.)
- Application of SARPs by States: transposition and deviations (Article 38)
- Reference Documentation (Doc 7300, 9734, 9859, etc.)
- Case studies: USOAP (Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme) audit management
Day 3 – Practical Application and Compliance
- Introduction to the Safety Management System (SMS – Doc 9859)
- Principles of safety culture according to ICAO
- Preparation for an ICAO / EASA audit
- Practical exercises and evaluation quiz
